Feeling in Sync

I'm a believer in continuous learning, especially as we age!

So, this weekend, I embarked on a journey to learn more about sound healing, specifically with crystal singing bowls. And no better place to do this, than in Sedona, AZ!

The Science of Entrainment

I learned more about the science of entrainment, where separate systems come into a coherent rhythm with each other.

You see this in nature with the beautiful magic of a dolphin pod, or the flow of a flock of birds.

Another example is, when you hang a bunch of grandfather clocks on the same wall, eventually, their pendulums begin to swing together. Interestingly enough this pendulum phenomenon was first recognized in 1666 by Dutch physicist Christian Huygens (Thaut, M. H., McIntosh, G. C., & Hoemberg, V. 2015).

My favorite example is the simple joy-filled realization that you and your dear friend are both walking to the same beat, with the same leg!

In Sync.

You feel in-sync. At ease, and... in rhythm.

Sound healing works similar to the above examples. The sound's vibrations (in this example, the crystal singing bowl) fall into a rhythm with the dominant waveform.

The vibrations of the varied tones from the bowls entrain your brain waves, helping them slow down, stimulating your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest), and in turn you begin to release the feel good hormones of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and endorphins.

So... you feel, more in-sync. At ease. In rhythm.

This is why I am invested in using Sound Healing to support you in your life journey, so you feel ease and peace. You slow down. You naturally release feel-good hormones and you connect with your powerful self.

Priceless.
