Something Light & Fluffy

I'm so glad you're here. You are a blessing to me.

In today's fast paced, sometimes hard world, I thought I'd share something light and fluffy.

Remaining authentic and true to oneself is sooo flipping important in our lives, at home, at work and at play.

For me, when I become disconnected to my authenticity, and who I truly am, I become distracted, disingenuous with my heart and intuition and eventually feel at a loss.

This is NOT a way to find the deep purpose my soul needs to truly be with another human in a meaningful way. 😫

In fact, this disconnection makes me be 'at' another, not 'with' them. And in the wise words of Johnny 5 from the 1986 Short Circuit movie (look it up, it's so cute!)- it makes me feel...disassembled!

Ever feel disassembled? YEP. Me too.

So, how can you reconnect with your authentic self and re-assemble?

Healing Rituals are one way.

Healing Rituals

Healing Rituals are self-regulated actions that bring healing in all moments. (A great book about healing rituals is called, Rituals of Healing: Using Imagery for Health and Wellness, by Barbara Montgomery Dossey, Jeanne Achterberg, Leslie Kolkmeier).

Recognizable healing rituals could be birthday celebrations. Cake, presents, party, balloons, candles, friends etc.

Another example could be brushing your teeth. You pick the color of your toothbrush, how much toothpaste you put on that brush, what side of your mouth you begin brushing, you notice the sensations on our gums, the froth of toothpaste, etc.

Handwashing as a Healing Ritual

I often use handwashing as a Healing Ritual, where I pay close attention to the way the water feels on my skin, the smell of the soap, the texture of the bubbles, the sound of the water as it rushes from the faucet, and when I want to let go of a sad situation, or a difficult conversation I just had, I imagine it all flowing out of me and down the drain with the suds and water. Healing indeed.

What kinds of Healing Rituals do you have?

My favorite Healing Ritual

One of my favorite Healing Rituals is light and fluffy!

I LOVE my morning Healing Rituals the most, for they always include time with one of my best friends, Bumpie the Cat.

Bumpie is a purr-box of love and kindness. Every morning, he comes for a certain sequence of pets, usually kicked off by what my hubbs and I call, 'Shakie-tail'. This is exactly as it sounds, except, Bumpie's tail is suuuuuper long, and it shakes, trembling-like telling us, "I am so happy to see you and now, PET ME!"

Loving Reminders

And he sends me loving reminders as we begin our Healing Ritual.

His soft fur reminds me of the tenderness I have in my heart, even when I'm trying to be so brave.

When he's in my arms, I feel his acceptance, love, playfulness, confidence.

#bumpieinabox

In his purr I feel his resonance, his deep vibration of knowing, and it reminds me of my own.

The green of his wise eyes connects me to the deep pool of knowledge I have from life experience and professional work.

The wet of his cool nose, instills fun surprises that if I'm not present, can miss out on.

The weight of his body on my lap reminds me of my grounded capability to share energetic space with another.
These rituals are truly healing, especially when you bring attention to them or recognize how they can affect your soul and bring you back to your authentic self- which is who you are meant to be in every moment, and what makes you truly special.

What action or healing ritual brings you back to your authentic being?

DO SHARE- just take a moment to reply back to me, or contemplate as you lay your strong, healthy body to rest this evening.

You are loved, Nicole + Bumpie xo
